Dr Thor Timothy, Anuntapon Chutatape is a dedicated consultant anaesthesiologist with over 10 years of specialised expertise in Pain Medicine and close to 20 years of medical experience. He was formerly the Director of Acute Pain Services at the Singapore General Hospital and Visiting Consultant at various hospitals: Sengkang General Hospital KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital National Dental Centre, National Cancer Centre, National Heart Centre, and the Singapore National Eye Centre.
Dr Thor was awarded the Human Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Award by the Ministry of Health of Singapore to train in Cancer and Chronic Pain at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia. In Australia, he trained in minimally invasive interventional pain techniques including spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal pump placement, and radiofrequency neuromodulation and ablation techniques, which are less risky alternatives to open surgery.
“My mission goes beyond just treating symptoms; it’s about walking alongside patients in their journey toward a life with less pain and more vitality. It’s about addressing every aspect of their wellbeing - physical, mental and emotional - to craft a personalised plan that enables them to live fully.”
— Dr Thor Timothy
Besides his clinical experience, Dr Thor is also actively involved in teaching and research to further his knowledge and contribute to the growth of current and future medical professionals. He has taught students from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School; as well as doctors from the SingHealth organisation. Passionate about public education, he has run masterclasses and seminars for the public and shared his insights through TV and newspaper features in order to raise awareness about pain management.
Above all, Dr Thor is passionate about helping people overcome pain and improve their quality of life. He especially believes in treating at-risk patients before and after major surgery, with the goal of miminising the risk of developing chronic post-surgical pain. Dr Thor is kind and empathetic and will patiently partner with you to explore all the various options available.
